Xiaomi Automobile recently shared details on intelligent driving and OTA updates for its new YU7 lineup during its latest community Q&A. Following an upgrade to Xiaomi HyperOS 1.16, the long-range, Pro, and Max variants of the YU7 are confirmed to feature the "Xiaomi XLA Cognitive Large Model."
This update under Xiaomi’s new vehicle architecture signals a major step in integrating large model technology into core vehicle control and autonomous driving. Beyond architectural improvements, HyperOS 1.16 introduces practical features addressing common user needs, including a beta version of voice-controlled driving and enhanced navigation for challenging basement parking lots. As algorithms and large models evolve, these vehicles will continue to unlock advanced intelligent capabilities.
Xiaomi also provided guidance on balancing performance and efficiency. For the YU7 GT, drivers can switch between "Comfort Mode" and "Economy Mode" during daily use. Comfort mode offers smooth, linear power delivery and effective suspension vibration absorption. In Economy mode, the front motor disengages by default, relying on rear-wheel drive to reduce energy consumption. Combined with standard energy recovery and air conditioning ECO settings, this approach maximizes driving range.
To address motion sickness, the system features an optimized "Motion Sickness Relief Mode." It minimizes discomfort by fine-tuning power response, braking feel, and energy recovery timing. The system also coordinates suspension filtering and body stability, ensuring a smoother transition for users accustomed to traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.
