1mind Secures $30M Seed Funding Led by 6sense Founder Amanda Kahlow for AI Sales Platform
While LLM-driven AI agents are a relatively recent development, they have quickly gained traction in the sales sector. 1mind, a startup co-founded by Amanda Kahlow, has been quietly deploying its sales agent, Mindy, for approximately a year.
On Monday, the company revealed a $30 million Series A funding round led by Battery Ventures, bringing its total funding to $40 million.
Kahlow is a recognized figure in sales and marketing technology, having founded and previously led 6sense. Launched in 2013, 6sense started as a lead-generation platform that analyzed signals from social media and other online sources to pinpoint prospective customers. She departed the company in 2020.
Despite a crowded sales agent market, 1mind and its agent Mindy take a different approach by avoiding typical tasks like mass emailing and cold calling—a space even her former company, 6sense, now occupies.
"I'm not focusing on outbound," Kahlow explained to TechCrunch. Instead, Mindy is designed to manage inbound sales, guiding prospects all the way to closing deals. The agent enhances self-service websites and can act as a sales engineer during enterprise-level discussions. It also serves as an onboarding specialist for new clients.
"Our aim is to authentically replicate the human experience throughout the go-to-market process—when buyers show intent by visiting your website or joining a Zoom call, Mindy can join as the sales engineer," Kahlow added, using the personified pronoun for the AI.
Kahlow even refers to her AI agents as "superhumans," though they lack human traits or comic-book superpowers.

While 1mind utilizes multiple large-language models, including OpenAI and Google Gemini, the agent minimizes hallucinations through deterministic AI, as both Kahlow and Mindy confirmed during our call. Deterministic AI establishes boundaries, ensuring the agent delivers ingested corporate sales content accurately. Additionally, Mindy is programmed to acknowledge when she lacks an answer.
After a year in operation, 1mind is now used by over 30 companies—including HubSpot, LinkedIn, and New Relic—to pitch and finalize deals. Kahlow notes that all named customers hold annual contracts rather than experimental budgets, with the average agreement valued in the six-figure range.

1Mind AI agent MindyImage Credits:1mind The company also employs the bot internally for its own sales discussions. But Kahlow has taken it a step further by creating an avatar of herself, named Amanda, which she brought along to venture capital pitches.
During due diligence by Battery Ventures, "we used the avatar to navigate the data room, asking numerous questions about case studies and other details," said Battery partner Neeraj Agrawal, referring to the Amanda avatar. A data room contains the extensive information a startup shares with potential investors.
"The conversation design is highly nuanced, determining which case studies are shared and when," he added. The firm also observed that customers engaged in extended dialogues, often forgetting they were interacting with an AI.
This avatar remains accessible via Kahlow’s LinkedIn profile, where anyone can interact with it. It answers queries about 1mind's products as well as broader topics, such as Kahlow's perspective on being a woman in tech. However, similar to its human counterpart, the avatar consistently steers conversations back to 1mind.
Looking ahead, Kahlow anticipates that 1mind and similar agentic sales startups will eventually replace higher-level account executive roles—or at least radically redefine them.
"We're not yet at the stage of fully replacing the account executive. We're replacing the website, the sales engineer, and customer success roles, but the relationship between AE and customer remains," she stated. "Over time, I believe much of the AE's current responsibilities will diminish."
She attributes this primarily to a current trust gap. Since agentic technology is so new, buyers negotiating major enterprise agreements still prefer human involvement.
Interestingly, once trust is established, Kahlow envisions—and is already developing—agent-to-agent transactions that won't require human-like avatars, instead functioning as direct exchanges of information and requirements.
For now, 1mind continues to employ people: 44 staff members, including sales roles, with 71 open positions—some of which are for account executives.
The funding round included investments from Primary Ventures, Wing Venture Capital, Operator Collective, Harmonic Growth Partners, and Success Venture Partners, along with angel backers from Monday.com, ZoomInfo, Databricks, Box, Gong, Braze, and Verkada, according to 1mind.
