Apple Refreshes Liquid Glass Design with Frosted Finish
Apple's fresh Liquid Glass design language is looking a bit more... matte. With the release of the third iOS 26 developer beta, Apple has reduced the transparency of navigation bars, buttons, and tabs, which previously offered a clear view of the underlying content.
Apple had already scaled back the translucent effect of Liquid Glass after user feedback that excessive transparency made some elements, like Control Center icons, hard to see. This latest beta solidifies these UI components further, aiming to boost legibility. However, some view this as a departure from the glossy, glass-inspired aesthetic Apple debuted at WWDC.

"It now appears less premium, almost as if Apple is stepping back from its initial design concept." Other voices online urge Apple to "stop diluting" Liquid Glass, labeling the update a "regression." Some beta testers observed that transparency levels can still differ from app to app.
