Amazon Introduces AI-Powered Audio Summaries for Enhanced Shopping Experience
Amazon is piloting AI-generated audio product summaries on select item pages, the company revealed Wednesday. These summaries, narrated by Amazon’s “AI-driven shopping advisors,” highlight key product features, customer feedback, and curated web insights.
Shoppers can access these AI-crafted audio summaries by selecting the “Hear the Highlights” option in the Amazon Shopping app. The feature targets products that typically involve thoughtful purchase decisions, according to Amazon.
Designed to streamline the shopping process, this feature delivers critical information in a conversational, engaging format, saving customers time.
“This tool makes product exploration intuitive and efficient — it’s like having trusted advisors guide your purchase decisions, whether you’re multitasking or on the move,” Amazon stated in its blog post.

Amazon explained that the feature leverages large language models (LLMs) to create scripts by synthesizing customer reviews and online data, which are then converted into concise audio clips.
This feature complements Amazon’s existing AI-powered shopping tools, including Rufus, its generative AI assistant, and Interests, which tracks new products aligned with user preferences.
