Last week, Ondas Inc. finalized the purchase of DZYNE Technologies LLC, a defense technology firm headquartered in Irvine, California. The transaction was valued at $875.8 million and was funded through a combination of cash and shares.

Ondas states that this acquisition will enhance its existing capabilities across multiple domains, including multi-domain intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; counter-uncrewed aerial systems; precision strike operations; mission intelligence gathering; and autonomous system development, thereby better meeting the evolving demands of U.S. and allied defense clients.

“The nature of modern warfare is changing rapidly, with military advantage increasingly going to organizations that can deploy large-scale autonomous systems,” said Eric Brock, chairman and CEO of Ondas. “DZYNE brings cutting-edge technology, top-tier engineering expertise, and fully operational systems for long-endurance ISR, counter-UAS missions, and autonomous attack applications.”

He added that combining forces with DZYNE will speed up Ondas’ development of next-generation autonomous defense platforms—not through a single groundbreaking product, but by integrating proven technologies from various areas into a cohesive, scalable operational framework.

Established in 2012, DZYNE specializes in the rapid design, development, and deployment of advanced systems. The company integrates artificial intelligence into its long-endurance autonomous aircraft, enabling functions such as full-motion video transmission, video processing, autonomous navigation, as well as tracking and targeting capabilities. Ondas describes DZYNE as a fully operational business with established relationships throughout the defense industry.

Ondas projects that DZYNE will generate $191 million in revenue for the entire year 2026, with figures exceeding $300 million expected by 2027. For 2026 alone, Ondas targets at least $525 million in revenue from this division.

Founded in 2006, Ondas offers robots, drones, and networking technology through its Ondas Autonomous Systems and Ondas Networks business units. Its products serve a wide range of industries, including rail, energy, public safety, critical infrastructure, and government sectors.

The company based in West Palm Beach, Florida, completed its previously announced share offering last year, issuing 46 million shares of common stock. Ondas estimates that the offering raised approximately $217 million.

Three key strengths brought by DZYNE

Ondas indicates that DZYNE enhances its multi-domain development strategy. DZYNE’s ULTRA system is a long-endurance autonomous aircraft capable of providing multi-day ISR coverage over large operational areas. This system has already accumulated tens of thousands of flight hours in actual operations. With DZYNE’s technology, Ondas says its product portfolio will now include solutions for stratospheric surveillance, long-endurance theater monitoring, and tactical ISR tasks.

DZYNE’s IonStrike expands Ondas’ capabilities in countering uncrewed aerial systems. It is a fully kinetic autonomous interceptor designed to detect, track, and physically destroy hostile drones mid-flight. This system was developed specifically to address threats posed by Iranian-made Shahed-136 class one-way attack drones and other emerging aerial dangers.

The company also offers Dronebuster, a handheld counter-UAS system that works in conjunction with IonStrike to create a layered aerial security framework capable of countering evolving unmanned threats.

In addition, DZYNE provides a range of autonomous systems that Ondas believes will enable it to support a broader spectrum of missions, including intelligence gathering, force protection, logistics operations, and precision attack capabilities. This portfolio includes the Blitz autonomous Group 1 UAS and the Grasshopper autonomous cargo glider.

Blitz combines autonomy with a range of up to 93.2 miles (150 kilometers), swarm operation capabilities, and an open, modular architecture to form a scalable platform. Grasshopper is capable of delivering up to 500 pounds (226.7 kilograms) of supplies into contested or difficult-to-access areas.

Ondas Sentinel as a dedicated U.S. operations unit

Ondas has created Ondas Sentinel, a separate operating division designed to consolidate its expanding portfolio of autonomous defense technologies in the United States. Initially, the company planned for Sentinel to integrate World View and DZYNE into one entity.

Now, Ondas states that Sentinel functions as a scalable organization that combines persistent ISR capabilities, counter-UAS solutions, autonomous attack systems, and mission intelligence tools. The division is intended to support larger, more integrated defense programs by leveraging shared technology roadmaps, manufacturing processes, maintenance services, and AI-powered mission software.

Ryan Hartman, CEO of World View, will serve as the CEO of Ondas Sentinel. Matt McCue, co-founder and CEO of DZYNE, will assume the role of chief technology officer for this new division.

Ondas buying DZYNE? Makes sense for defense drones. Grasshopper sounds cool for resupply in tough zones. Just hope they don't get shot down by our own systems! 😂🚁
