Neros Inc. has closed a $250 million Series C funding round, elevating the defense drone contractor’s valuation to $2.5 billion.
“This latest capital injection accelerates Neros’ transition into a multi-capability drone manufacturer,” said Soren Monroe-Anderson, co-founder and CEO. “While our goal of producing 1 million drones annually remains unchanged, the breadth of platforms and mission profiles we can support is expanding rapidly. Since our previous financing in November, core business growth has been explosive. This capital enables faster deployment of our systems to warfighters at the scale required for decisive battlefield outcomes.”
Established in 2023, Neros holds major contracts with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, alongside agreements with every component of U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and six allied nations. The El Segundo, Calif.-based firm is collaborating with European allies through its U.K. subsidiary, while supporting defense and sovereign manufacturing needs in Asia and the Middle East.
Neros targets combat deployments by end of 2026
Neros Technologies intends to deploy the new capital to accelerate development and production ramps for its Archer AI and Bandit programs. Archer AI is a first-person view (FPV) platform enhanced with autonomy features, including Terminal Guidance and GPS-denied Position Hold.
Bandit is a counter-UAS (c-UAS) interceptor designed to neutralize Class 2 and 3 threats, such as Shahed-style systems.
Both platforms are being developed with the hardware and compute power necessary for multi-asset control, commonly referred to as “swarming.” Neros aims to deploy Archer AI and Bandit in active combat theaters by the end of 2026.
Investors back vertical integration strategy
Sequoia Capital and the American Strategic Technology Fund (ASTF) co-led the round. Participants also included Interlagos, Valor Equity Partners, Allen & Co., Thiel Capital, Spark Capital, and Dylan Field.
Neros previously secured $75 million in Series B funding in November 2025.
By controlling core technology, vertically integrating its component stack, and leveraging existing domestic production capacity, Neros states it is positioned to provide credible deterrence by manufacturing millions of aerial drones annually for the U.S. and its allies.
By 2028, Neros projects an annual production rate of 1 million drones across various capabilities, including long-range strike, close-quarters combat, and interceptor systems.
Defense drone funding surges amid global conflicts
Amid ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran, investment in defense drones has intensified. Earlier this week, Cambridge Aerospace raised $300 million in Series C funding, reaching a $3.4 billion valuation. The defense drone developer plans to expand manufacturing capabilities to fulfill existing and new contracts.
Last month, Quantum Systems raised $1.2 billion. The company designs and produces fully autonomous drones for frontline forces.
In June, Mach Industries, a manufacturer of uncrewed defense systems, raised $300 million. In May, HavocAI, a provider of autonomous defense systems, secured $100 million.
Additionally, Ondas Inc. acquired Irvine, Calif.-based defense technology firm DZYNE Technologies LLC last month for $875.8 million.
