Cyberpunk 2077 Coming to Mac on July 17

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on macOS this week, arriving sooner than its initially scheduled early 2025 debut. The Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition becomes officially available on Apple silicon devices starting July 17th via Apple’s Mac App Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com.
CD Projekt Red has optimized Cyberpunk 2077 across a wide range of Mac hardware, spanning early M1 models up to the latest M4 chips. Note, however, that only certain M1 and M2 Macs are supported — your device must have at least 16GB of unified memory to run the game. Base M1 and M2 models with 8GB RAM are not compatible.
The game includes graphics presets tailored for each Apple silicon model, and more powerful Apple silicon chips will also feature full support for path tracing — a film-quality full ray tracing mode that dramatically enhances lighting and occlusion effects.
AMD’s FSR upscaling and frame generation will be available in the Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077, helping deliver smoother gameplay when advanced features like path tracing are enabled. MetalFX upscaling is also included, along with compatibility for Apple’s Magic Mouse and Trackpad.
Apple and CD Projekt Red have yet to share performance benchmarks for various Apple silicon configurations. HDR monitor owners, including those with Apple XDR displays, can enjoy HDR support in Cyberpunk 2077, and spatial audio plus head-tracking are available with Apple AirPods.
Mac users have technically been able to run Cyberpunk 2077 for some time using Apple’s Proton-like game porting tool. This official release, however, fully leverages Apple silicon and the native Metal graphics APIs — including Tile-Based Deferred Rendering (TBDR) architecture.
Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on Mac alongside CD Projekt Red’s latest 2.3 patch, introducing new cars and expanded photo mode options. The game supports cross-progression across all platforms and includes the Phantom Liberty expansion plus all major updates released to date.
