Cao Cao Mobility Starts Driverless Robotaxi Tests in Hangzhou, Targets 2027 for Mass Production

On July 27, Cao Cao Mobility officially launched driverless robotaxi trials in Hangzhou’s Binjiang District. By operating through designated pickup points, the service has demonstrated the stability and reliability of its unmanned fleet. These vehicles are fully integrated with the Cao Cao Zhi Xing RAS Remote Safety Platform, which oversees end-to-end safety monitoring, emergency response, real-time remote assistance, and incident management.
As the primary commercial arm of Geely Holding Group’s RoboX strategy, Cao Cao Mobility received approval earlier this year to become Hangzhou’s first company to test intelligent connected vehicles without a safety driver on public roads. The company currently operates a fleet of hundreds of robotaxis and has launched the world’s first “green intelligent mobility hub,” which combines automatic battery swapping, vehicle cleaning, and maintenance services.
Cao Cao Mobility is driving the shift toward unmanned operations via an integrated model combining “smart customized vehicles, intelligent driving technology, and smart operations.” Its flagship robotaxi, “Eva Cab”—China’s first native-developed autonomous vehicle—has been officially unveiled, with mass production and large-scale global commercial deployment scheduled for 2027. As unmanned testing expands and cloud-based safety systems improve, high-level autonomous driving moves from technical validation to commercial reality, paving the way for a major transformation of the future mobility landscape.
