WeChat Pay Unveils AI Toolkit 2.0, Supporting 9 Languages and Halving Token Use
WeChat Pay recently introduced the AI Access Toolkit 2.0. Building on the original April release, this version incorporates merchant and developer feedback, with major upgrades centered on three priorities: security, efficiency, and native smoothness.
The updated toolkit now supports nine languages, including Chinese, English, and Japanese, and has tailored native semantics to WeChat Pay’s unique business concepts. This enhancement helps prevent misinterpretations from direct machine translation, enabling global developers to integrate seamlessly in their native language.

Comprehensive Expansion of Core Capabilities
The knowledge base has been greatly expanded in the new toolkit. It now covers all WeChat Pay product categories, up from just payment and coupons in version 1.0.
Additionally, the toolkit introduces two new AI capabilities: technical experts and financial-grade R&D experts. The former delivers end-to-end Q&A for scenario selection, process interpretation, and fault diagnosis, while the latter reviews code against financial-grade security standards to help developers avoid potential vulnerabilities.
Efficiency Gains and Cost Reduction
To maintain a steady development flow, the new version includes a CLI dynamic troubleshooting feature. Developers can check payment and refund order status in real time using natural language, without leaving the coding environment or logging into the merchant backend.
In addition, all timing and status diagrams in the documentation have been converted to Mermaid format, making them more compatible with various large models. This change reduces overall token consumption by 50% compared to the original HTML document, effectively lowering resource usage.
