Samsung Halts One UI 7 Update Globally

It seems that Samsung has hit a snag with the rollout of its much-anticipated One UI 7 update. Reports indicate that a significant bug, which was locking some Galaxy S24 users out of their phones, has forced the company to hit the brakes on the update. The issue was first brought to light by the well-known leaker Ice Universe, who pointed out the "serious bug" affecting users. Although the complaints have primarily come from Galaxy S24 owners in South Korea, Samsung isn't taking any chances and has decided to pause the update globally across all affected models.
Some users might have already installed the One UI 7 update. However, using the CheckFirm app, we've noticed that the update has been pulled from Samsung's servers. Instead of One UI 7, older firmware versions are now showing up as the latest available for several Galaxy devices. Samsung hasn't officially acknowledged this pause or provided details on when or how they plan to address the issue for those who've already updated. We've tried reaching out to Samsung for more information but haven't heard back yet.
The One UI 7 update, which includes Android 15 and a suite of AI enhancements, started rolling out to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 models on April 7th, reaching the US on April 10th. It's also been available for the Galaxy S25 series and the more budget-friendly Galaxy A series since their launch in February.

The decision to pause the rollout comes after a long wait for owners of older devices. The update was released a full seven months after Android 15 became available to developers and two months after the S25 series hit the market with the new software already installed.
