Listen to Conversations on Your Sources with NotebookLM

NotebookLM is designed to help you navigate through complex information by becoming an instant expert on the sources you upload. It provides responses grounded in your material, complete with citations and relevant quotes. Plus, since it's your personal notebook, your data stays private and isn't used to train NotebookLM.
This summer, NotebookLM went global and tapped into Gemini 1.5's multimodal capabilities to introduce new features. These include support for Google Slides and web URLs, improved fact-checking methods, and the ability to quickly generate study guides, briefing documents, and more.
We're excited to announce Audio Overview, a fresh feature that transforms your documents into engaging audio discussions. With just one click, two AI hosts dive into a lively "deep dive" conversation based on your sources. They'll summarize your material, connect the dots between topics, and even throw in some banter. You can download these discussions and listen to them on the go.
Keep in mind, these audio discussions aren't meant to be a complete or unbiased take on a topic. They're just a reflection of the sources you've uploaded.
To give Audio Overview a try, follow these steps:
- Head over to NotebookLM.
- Start a new notebook.
- Add at least one source.
- In your Notebook guide, hit the "Generate" button to create an Audio Overview.
Tired of reading? NotebookLM can now generate audio summaries of your sources.
Here’s our own Audio Overview1 that we generated when we used the latest Keyword blog post about NotebookLM as the source material.
Your browser does not support the audio element.
NotebookLM Audio OverviewA discussion of the blog post "NotebookLM goes global with Slides support and better ways to fact-check."
Audio Overview is still in its experimental phase and comes with some limitations. For instance, generating an Audio Overview for large notebooks might take a few minutes. Also, the AI hosts currently only speak English, might introduce some inaccuracies, and you can't interrupt them yet.
We're thrilled to bring audio into NotebookLM because we know that some folks learn and remember better through listening to conversations. We'd love to hear your feedback to help us improve Audio Overviews and make them an even better tool for understanding the information that's important to you.

So they finally made an AI that actually listens to your files instead of just pretending? I'm both relieved and slightly creeped out that my private notes will be 'grounded' in my own material. 🙃 Hope the citations don't start quoting my grocery lists back at me.
Этот NotebookLM выглядит как секретный инструмент для исследователей! 😄 Интересно, как он справляется с техническими документами — может, попробовать загрузить пару научных статей? Хотя, конечно, всегда есть опасения по поводу конфиденциальности данных...
This NotebookLM thing sounds like a game-changer for research! I love how it sticks to my sources and keeps things private. Makes me wonder if it could outsmart my professor’s lectures 😄. Anyone tried it for deep dives yet?
This is super cool! NotebookLM feels like having a personal research assistant who actually gets my notes. Love the privacy part—keeps my data safe! 😎
