Chinese Academy of Sciences Unveils Jingshi 100 AI Model System to Advance Scientific Research Platform

On April 28, the Chinese Academy of Sciences officially unveiled the "Panzhi 100" model system in Beijing. This launch signifies a pivotal shift for AI for Science in China, moving from fragmented, isolated research into a new phase of systematic and highly efficient innovation. The system is built upon the "Panzhi" scientific foundational large model as its core intelligent infrastructure. It develops a specialized model cluster targeting eight critical disciplines such as mathematics, physics, materials science, and life sciences, ultimately creating a comprehensive digital intelligence innovation platform that spans the entire research lifecycle.
From a technical architecture perspective, "Panzhi 100" delivers a fully integrated stack, from foundational layers to application-level intelligence. The upgraded Panzhi Scientific Foundation Large Model 1.5 Pro leverages 6.5 million high-quality scientific reasoning data points, substantially boosting its capabilities in cross-disciplinary knowledge reasoning and multi-modal comprehension. Serving as the foundational support for the complete research workflow, Panzhi offers three core functions: Literature Compass, Innovation Evaluation, and Intelligent Factory. The Intelligent Factory has initially realized autonomous, closed-loop toolchains, amassing a library of over 2,000 research tools. In disciplinary applications, the Panzhi system exhibits profound domain-specific cognition and remarkable reasoning efficiency. For instance, the "Digital Cell" model successfully validated three previously unknown drug targets within just 30 days, while the "Lingkong" large model accomplished deep reasoning for highly complex aerospace engineering challenges.
