Baidu Qianfan Coding Plan Halts Renewals, Shifts to Pay-as-you-go Token Plan in July

On June 25, 2026, Baidu Intelligent Cloud's Qianfan Large Model Platform discontinued all renewal services for its AI coding subscription product "Coding Plan," marking a major strategic shift for the tool just four months after its launch.
Introduced in February 2026 as a low-barrier, full-process code assistant, Coding Plan originally highlighted its multi-model flexibility, letting developers switch between mainstream large models like GLM-4.7 and DeepSeek-V3.2 with a single click, while also deeply integrating with cutting-edge tools such as Cursor and Claude Code. In response to the renewal change, the Qianfan team outlined a clear transition path: individual users who purchased packages will keep their current service cycles unaffected, while auto-renewal will be turned off uniformly 30 days after the announcement, and services will end smoothly once the package expires.
Rather than signaling the end of the business, this sudden product line stoppage is part of a strategic restructuring aimed at deepening the commercialization of generative AI. The Qianfan team revealed that technical and user resources will gradually migrate to the new product "Token Plan Personal Edition," scheduled for an early July 2026 launch. The new product will abandon the traditional fixed-package subscription model in favor of a more flexible pay-as-you-go approach, offering a broader selection of models.
