Zijing Zhikang Unveils Zijing AI Hospital Virtual Clinic for Custom Doctor Avatars
On April 13, Zijing Zhikang, a company incubated by Tsinghua University's Institute for Intelligent Industry Research (AIR), officially launched the "Zijing AI Hospital," an online virtual clinic. This marks a significant step in its journey from technological proof-of-concept to large-scale practical implementation.
The virtual clinic is accessible to physicians and medical students. Its central feature enables users to create personalized "doctor avatars." These avatars can then engage in comprehensive, simulated medical practice by interacting with a vast pool of highly realistic "AI patient avatars" within the system. This two-way intelligent interaction allows the doctor avatars to learn and evolve alongside real doctors during collaborative case reviews, facilitating the digital accumulation of diagnostic insights and procedural expertise.

As a deep foray into medical AI, the "Zijing AI Hospital" is built upon the "Agent Hospital" concept introduced by Professor Liu Yang's team at Tsinghua University in May 2024. Since its founding in September 2024, Zijing Zhikang has focused on transforming this virtual medical environment into a practical tool. The system currently features 26 clinical departments and includes a broadly representative sample of AI patient cases.
