xAI Unveils Imagine Image2.0, Supporting 5-Image Fusion and Intelligent Expansion
xAI has introduced Imagine Image 2.0, a premium quality mode for the web-based Imagine service and its iOS and Android apps under Grok. This update targets creative workflows requiring precise layout control, legible typography, and consistent visual assets. While API access is currently in development, an official release date has not yet been announced.
According to xAI, Image 2.0 is designed to interpret complex prompts, managing typography and layout within dense compositions while keeping small text clear. The model supports iterative generation and editing, allowing users to refine images without losing specified visual elements. Advanced editing tools feature magic wand and segmentation options for precise local adjustments, alongside background removal and transparent image export. Additionally, it can combine up to five reference images into a single output, streamlining complex visual creation.

Image 2.0 also features intelligent resizing, expanding images to fit specific frame sizes with aspect ratios ranging from 1:2 to 9:16, including square, landscape, and 2:1 formats. xAI has further introduced template workflows for repetitive creative tasks, covering photo editing, product color adjustments, e-commerce visuals, professional avatars, icons, character sprites, emojis, and product design.
For video planning, these templates assist users in generating characters, scenes, and props separately while maintaining a unified visual style, helping to build a cohesive and consistent content universe.
