Lenovo pits DeepSeek, other AI models against millions of fans in historic first World Cup prediction showdown
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, on the horizon, a unique clash between technology and sports is unfolding. Lenovo has unveiled a pioneering AI versus human prediction contest for the tournament, developed in partnership with Migu.
Powered by Lenovo’s Tianxi AI Super Intelligent Agent, this initiative integrates leading Chinese AI models—including DeepSeek, Kimi, Wenxin Yilang, Tongyi Qianwen, and China Mobile Jiutian—into 12 distinct AI prediction teams. This elite "AI squad" will forecast every match of the World Cup, engaging in the first-ever human-versus-AI prediction showdown alongside millions of football enthusiasts.

The initial phase, titled "2026 USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup 32 Teams True Questions," is now live. Leading up to the June 11 kickoff, participants can predict group-stage outcomes to win exclusive rewards. Correctly forecasting all results offers a chance to win World Cup final tickets, alongside limited-edition laptops and gold-accented foldable phones commemorating the event.
On June 11, the contest transitions to live match mode, featuring three core prediction categories: single-match win-draw-loss outcomes, exact score predictions, and championship progression forecasts. These modes cover all 104 matches, from the group stage through to the final.
Beyond fan engagement, AI serves as a critical tool for on-field performance. Announced in January, Lenovo and FIFA’s joint development, Football AI Pro, is an AI agent designed to support football operations. During the tournament, it provides deep data insights for coaches, players, and analysts. By leveraging video clips and 3D avatars, analysts can visualize data dynamically, coaches can simulate tactical adjustments against specific opponents, and players receive personalized match analyses.
