WeChat Pay launches AI Access Toolbox 2.0 with upgraded dual AI experts and nine-language support
WeChat Pay launched the AI Access Toolbox 2.0 on June 15. Building on the initial April release — which included Skill packages, AI-friendly documentation, and AI-friendly APIs — this version incorporates five major technical upgrades based on real-world feedback from merchants and developers. These upgrades center on three core areas: security, efficiency, and native smoothness. The goal is to address the fund security concerns that over 70% of merchants have when using AI-assisted programming, while further lowering development barriers and resource usage.

This update brings global native language adaptation, with full support for nine languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. It also applies native semantic calibration to WeChat Pay's unique business concepts, eliminating translation inaccuracies that often result from direct machine translation.
Meanwhile, the comprehensive knowledge base has been significantly expanded to cover all WeChat Pay products. On the capability front, version 2.0 introduces a dual AI expert matrix: "Technical Experts" and "Financial-grade R&D Experts." The Technical Experts manage end-to-end Q&A and troubleshooting, while the Financial-grade R&D Experts review code against financial-grade security standards to identify and prevent potential vulnerabilities.
Additionally, the new version debuts a CLI dynamic troubleshooting feature, enabling developers to check order status in real time using natural language — all without leaving their coding environment. Document charts have also been standardized into Mermaid format, paired with an automatic update mechanism at startup. This greatly improves large model reading efficiency and reduces token consumption by 50% compared to the original HTML documents.
From the initial pilot of the toolbox to the full evolution of version 2.0, WeChat Pay is transforming the traditional API integration model into AI-native interaction through toolchain reconstruction. This not only substantially improves R&D efficiency and fund security for millions of merchants but also signals that large model applications in China are rapidly moving from "generalized conversation" toward deep penetration into vertical industry workflows.
