Volc Engine Debuts Agentic AI for Automotive, Doubao Model Powers Smarter Cockpit Ecosystem

At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Volcano Engine officially unveiled its next-generation automotive AI solution, built on an Agentic AI architecture. This solution deeply integrates AI cockpit packages with the Doubao Cockpit Assistant, signaling a shift from passive, turn-based dialogue to an era of intelligent agents with autonomous driving capabilities for human-machine interaction.
During the launch event, Tan Dai, President of Volcano Engine, shared key milestones: the company has now achieved 100% collaboration coverage with mainstream automakers. Over 7 million smart vehicles are equipped with the Doubao large model, spanning more than 50 brands and 145 models. Daily cockpit interactions and service loops exceed 30 million instances. This core technological upgrade centers on three key engines: dialogue reasoning, goal-driven execution, and learning and growth. By constructing a unified "car brain," the system can perceive environmental feedback in real-time and continuously self-iterate.
To meet the diverse needs of different automakers, Volcano Engine provides varied collaboration paths, ranging from foundational model capabilities to a complete Agent ecosystem. The Doubao Cockpit Assistant solution, offered as a complete product-level package, will enable seamless connectivity between the vehicle's infotainment system and the Doubao App on smartphones. The first batch of cooperative models is slated for mass production and launch within the year.
In the current global landscape, where open-source model downloads have surpassed 10 billion and AI companies are proliferating, Volcano Engine's initiative not only expands the capabilities of AI cockpits but also accelerates the transformation of cars from mere "transportation tools" into "proactive service intelligent agents." This Agent-based architecture establishes a new technical paradigm for the large-scale commercialization of in-vehicle AI.
