SAS Launches Enterprise AI Governance Tool to Manage Intelligent Entities and Mitigate Shadow AI Risks
During the recent SAS Innovate conference, analytics leader SAS unveiled a suite of governance tools designed for Agentic AI. These solutions empower organizations to create transparent, secure automated ecosystems, tackling the compliance and trust challenges inherent in enterprise AI adoption.
Establishing Governance to Transition from Experimentation to Production
SAS introduced a product lineup featuring Viya Copilot, the Agent Accelerator, and SAS AI Navigator, a governance solution that together form a comprehensive management framework. The company stressed that AI governance should be viewed as a catalyst for business growth rather than a compliance hurdle, enabling employees to push the boundaries of AI within safe, controlled environments.
SAS AI Navigator, the core SaaS offering, is set to launch in Q3 2026. It compiles an inventory of AI assets and automatically maps complex use cases to regulatory requirements and internal policies, giving managers clear visibility into the status of all models and agents.
Targeting Industry Use Cases and Pioneering Quantum AI
For specific verticals, SAS launched a supply chain assistant and a marketing analytics agent, ensuring decision reliability through predefined guardrails. These industry accelerators simulate complex scenarios, such as demand shifts, and explain AI logic to users, effectively bridging the gap between domain experts and AI technical teams.
Additionally, SAS announced plans to open a Quantum Lab in Q4 2026, aiming to lower costs for enterprises integrating quantum computing with AI. While automation increases, SAS maintains a "human-AI collaboration" philosophy, viewing AI as a tool whose value is determined by human expertise and application.
