Windows 11 Update Mistakenly Removes Copilot for Some Users - Here's How to Restore It

If you updated your Windows 11 system last week with the latest patch, you might have noticed something odd—Copilot, Microsoft's beloved AI assistant, has gone missing. The update in question, KB5053598, was released on March 11 as part of this month's Patch Tuesday. It was meant to fix a bunch of bugs and introduce some new features, but it seems it also brought along an unexpected issue for Copilot users.
Microsoft has acknowledged the problem, explaining that the Copilot app was unintentionally uninstalled and removed from the taskbar on some devices. This glitch, however, only affects the standard Copilot app and not the Microsoft 365 Copilot available to subscribers.
The good news is that Microsoft is already on the case, working on a fix. In the meantime, if your Copilot has vanished and you're eager to get it back, here's what you can do:
First, head over to the Microsoft Store page dedicated to Copilot. Download the app, and then run the downloaded exe file to reinstall it.
To restore Copilot to your Taskbar, click the Start button and search for Copilot in the Start menu or All apps screen. Once you find it, right-click on its shortcut, navigate to the More menu, and select Pin to Taskbar. After that, you can launch and use Copilot just as you normally would.
Windows 11 has been dealing with its fair share of glitches lately, especially with the 24H2 version. Microsoft is still playing catch-up with several bugs, some of which were unintentionally introduced by recent updates.
While the Copilot issue is relatively minor and easily fixed by reinstalling the app, it's a reminder of the ongoing challenges Microsoft faces in ensuring the stability and reliability of Windows 11 24H2. As the company prepares to end support for Windows 10 in October, addressing these issues is more crucial than ever.

What a blunder by Microsoft! 😅 Copilot vanishing after the KB5053598 update is like losing your trusty sidekick. I had to dig through settings to bring it back—annoying but manageable. Anyone else hit by this?
What a blunder by Microsoft! 😅 Copilot just vanishes after the update? I had to dig through settings to bring it back—super annoying but kinda funny how even tech giants mess up.
Updated Windows 11 and poof, Copilot vanished! 😱 Had to scramble to restore it. The process was a bit of a hassle, but at least it's back. Microsoft, maybe double-check these updates next time? 🤔
