Pinterest Tests AI-Driven Custom Boards for Personalized Curation
Pinterest announced new AI-powered upgrades to its boards on Monday, designed to deliver a more tailored user experience. These enhancements introduce a feature called “Styled for you,” an AI-driven collage tool that helps users assemble outfits from saved fashion Pins, alongside “Boards made for you,” which are personalized boards curated by AI.
The "Styled for you" collage feature enables users to blend various clothing items and accessories to craft new outfits that match their unique style. By tapping on an item within the collage, users can swipe through AI-recommended saved Pins for mixing and matching inspiration.
The platform is also trialing "Boards made for you," which are personalized boards built from a combination of editorial curation and AI suggestions. Featuring trending styles, weekly outfit ideas, and shoppable content, these boards will appear in users' home feeds and inboxes.
These AI features are currently in a testing phase for users in the U.S. and Canada, with a broader rollout planned over the next few months.

This move supports Pinterest's broader ambition to become an "AI-enabled shopping assistant," a vision highlighted by the CEO during the second-quarter earnings call. Pinterest already utilizes AI in several areas, including recommendations and visual search.
Despite rolling out new AI capabilities, Pinterest is simultaneously taking steps to manage AI-generated content on its platform. In April, the company outlined plans to label images created or altered by AI and introduced user controls to limit the visibility of AI-generated Pins in feeds.
Alongside these AI experiments, new tabs will be added to organize Pins into specific categories, accessible when viewing boards from user profiles. These updates are scheduled for a global release in the coming months.
