During Monday's episode of the Lex Fridman podcast, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang offered a forward-looking take on AGI progress, stating plainly, "I think we have achieved AGI." In response to the host defining AGI as "the ability to operate a tech company worth $1 billion," Huang said this milestone isn't 5 to 20 years off—it's already here. He specifically cited the viral spread of the open-source AI agent platform OpenClaw (commonly known as "crayfish"), arguing that users are creating diverse applications through such platforms and predicting the imminent rise of digital influencers or viral social apps.
However, amid his optimism, Huang offered a realistic correction. He noted that while current agent applications are active, most projects fade after a few months of popularity, and acknowledged that it's not yet feasible to replicate complex enterprises like NVIDIA with 100,000 agent systems.
