New Update Introduced for Claude Code: Integrated Browser Empowers Fully Autonomous Web Browsing for AI
Renowned artificial intelligence company Anthropic has recently rolled out a significant update to its developer tool Claude Code, introducing an integrated browser window as part of the improvement. This innovative feature allows Claude to directly open, view, interact with, and input content on external web pages right within the application interface.
Thanks to this enhancement, developers can eliminate the need to constantly switch between different applications. The AI can now access technical documentation, monitor issue records, and retrieve other essential resources efficiently without leaving the tool. The built-in browser features a user-friendly tab-based layout, enabling users to launch it swiftly through simple keyboard shortcuts.

Integrated Security Measures
To prevent the AI from executing unintended actions, Anthropic has implemented several rigorous security checks at the technical level. A specialized classifier within the system carefully monitors all operations carried out on external websites, ensuring that ultimate control remains firmly with the user.
Without explicit permission from the user, Claude is unable to perform tasks such as making purchases, creating new accounts, or circumventing CAPTCHAs. Furthermore, the browser always operates in a completely isolated environment and does not store any browsing history or login credentials.
Customizable Access Controls
To address security concerns among enterprise users, organizations can define specific lists of external websites that Claude is allowed to access by creating a whitelist. For companies with more stringent compliance requirements, administrators have the option to disable this browser feature entirely.
For users who want Claude to operate within their existing logged-in sessions, the official team recommends using a dedicated Chrome browser extension. This approach not only showcases the rapid progress in AI agent technology but also enhances the security framework for real-world deployment of the tool.
