Nadella stressed that the updated terms grant Microsoft rights to all of OpenAI's most advanced models and agent products through 2032. A crucial shift is the removal of royalty payments for using these frontier technologies, resulting in substantial operational savings for Microsoft.
Despite OpenAI's recent partnership with Amazon, ending Microsoft's prior exclusivity, Nadella expressed confidence. He highlighted Microsoft's 27% stake in OpenAI and OpenAI's commitment to purchase over $25 billion in Microsoft cloud services, underscoring a deeply aligned and robust relationship.
