Meta Unveils Central Hub to Control All Social and AI Devices

Meta Corp. announced on Thursday that its former Account Center is now called Meta Account, with major functional upgrades. This change reflects Meta's push to unify its apps and hardware, creating a seamless digital identity management system.
The revamped Meta Account acts as a central hub for social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, plus hardware such as AI smart glasses and Meta Quest headsets. Users can manage emails and passwords from a single dashboard, and pick which apps or devices link to the system.
To secure this central access point, Meta added advanced verification options. Users can rely on passkeys, fingerprint or facial recognition, plus two-factor authentication, to protect all linked accounts—streamlining cross-platform login.
Personalization and Parental Controls
While the system trends toward unification, Meta still offers strong user autonomy. Users can create separate accounts per device, or opt out of a unified account to keep logins isolated. The system also includes a Family Center for teens, letting parents monitor supervised accounts across platforms.
Notably, certain feature settings stay independent. WhatsApp passwords remain managed inside the app, and app-specific options like Facebook post visibility won't show in the unified Meta Account panel. Meta says the upgrade will roll out globally in phases over the next year.
