Lei Jun confirms Xiaomi's desktop AI agent MiClaw in development, MiMo-V2-Pro launches across all platforms
At the 2026 China Development High-level Forum, Xiaomi Group's Lei Jun confirmed that the long-awaited desktop version of the AI agent "MiClaw" (crab) is now on the development roadmap. Xiaomi had already launched a limited closed beta for the mobile MiClaw on March 6, and during its spring product launch on March 19, it hinted at cross-device collaboration capabilities. Following the full-platform release of Xiaomi's self-developed large model MiMo-V2-Pro last week, MiClaw's features have been comprehensively upgraded and are now available for user testing.
MiClaw is an AI agent designed for real-world task execution, setting it apart from traditional voice assistants. Its core purpose is to automate complex instructions through large model integration, rather than relying on simple logic or rule-based responses. Powered by MiMo-V2-Pro, MiClaw is deeply embedded in Xiaomi's "people-vehicle-home full ecosystem," with local deployment support that enhances privacy protection. Users can use natural language to create customized interactions between their phones and MiHome smart devices. While initial market excitement has settled into more measured expectations, the desktop version of MiClaw is seen as a vital piece for completing the ecosystem puzzle.
Xiaomi is currently focusing on tackling the more complex office data processing and permission standards required on the computer side. Once the desktop version officially launches, it will bridge the AI agent between smartphones and PCs—the two core terminals. As AI agents increasingly evolve into productivity tools, Xiaomi's move not only strengthens its AI competitiveness in consumer electronics but also signals a shift for large models: from simple conversational interactions to system-level, autonomous task execution across all scenarios.
