The global PC market is undergoing a dramatic transformation. NVIDIA recently posted on its official social media account a cryptic message—“PC New Era. 25.0528, 121.5990”—that set the tech world buzzing. Almost simultaneously, Microsoft and ARM shared identical updates. This coordinated move from three industry giants points unmistakably toward NVIDIA's long-rumored self-developed PC chip, signaling that the battle between the Windows on Arm alliance and Apple's M-series chips is about to intensify.
That set of geographic coordinates leads directly to the Taipei Pop Music Center in Taiwan, the main venue for the upcoming Computex trade show. At the event, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech, widely expected to center on the company's anticipated self-developed PC chip, reportedly codenamed N1X.

Based on leaked technical details, the N1X appears to be NVIDIA's answer to Apple's M-series super chip. Developed in partnership with MediaTek and built on TSMC's most advanced N3B manufacturing process, it features a 20-core ARM-based CPU and a Blackwell architecture GPU with 6,144 CUDA computing units. Its memory design adopts a unified architecture similar to Apple's, with 128GB of LPDDR5X memory accessible by both the CPU and GPU. With 6,144 CUDA cores alone, its graphics performance is already comparable to traditional desktop discrete GPUs.

That said, this groundbreaking chip comes with practical trade-offs. Because the CPU and GPU share LPDDR5X unified memory, bandwidth is expected to reach around 273 GB/s. Running traditional x86 games on the ARM architecture also requires an additional layer of emulation, meaning those hoping for a pure ultra-thin gaming laptop may find the real-world experience somewhat compromised.
But in an AI-native era, gaming performance may no longer be this machine's primary mission. For developers and creators, the N1X functions more like a local compute printer. In the past, accessing cutting-edge large language models meant paying high cloud subscription fees and per-token costs. With a high-performance AI-native PC like NVIDIA's, models can be deployed and run locally. Users invest in hardware once and can then generate tokens at nearly zero marginal cost, automating tasks, extracting trending topics, or organizing files.
