Doubao App Adds Built-in Map Navigation, Integrating AI Large Models Into Daily Travel
Douyin, ByteDance’s AI-driven app, has officially rolled out an in-app feature dubbed "Douyin Navigation" (or "Light Navigation" for select users). Leveraging Baidu Maps’ core technology, it delivers a seamless native navigation experience, pushing the boundaries of AI large models in spatial travel.
Designed with scenario-specific logic, the feature handles different travel modes uniquely. For walking and cycling, users can activate "Douyin Navigation" directly within the app or opt for AutoNavi Map. For driving and public transit, the system automatically redirects to AutoNavi Map. Enhancing user experience, "Douyin Navigation" integrates AI voice and text inputs, allowing quick destination entry via voice or text. It also supports real-time voice prompts and a floating window mode, enabling multitasking without interrupting navigation.

Addressing market speculation about Douyin testing social features with its large model, a Douyin spokesperson clarified that while the company has explored collaborative tools with Feishu for enterprise office use, there are currently no plans to implement the rumored social features.
