DeepSeek V4 Slashes Prices 75% with Permanent Discount, Leads Global AI Cost-Effectiveness

DeepSeek, the Chinese AI company, has updated its API documentation to announce a permanent price reduction for its flagship large model, DeepSeek-V4-Pro. What was originally a time-limited 2.5x discount scheduled to expire on May 31 has now become the standard pricing, cutting costs by 75% compared to the original rates.
Clear Advantage Over U.S. Flagship Models
According to new benchmark tests from the independent evaluation organization Artificial Analysis, the price cut has propelled DeepSeek-V4-Pro to the top of global AI cost-performance rankings. Running the same AI intelligence index tests, this model costs just $268.
This figure highlights an extraordinary cost advantage over international rivals: its operational cost is just one-twelfth that of OpenAI's GPT-5.5, and a mere one-nineteenth of Anthropic's Claude Opus4.7.
A New Open-Source Benchmark with Uncompromised Specifications
Alongside the significant price reduction, DeepSeek-V4-Pro continues to deliver world-class technical performance. According to its technical report, the model shows notable gains in agent (Agent) capabilities.
