ByteDance Unveils Seedance 2.0 Mini, Halving Video Generation Cost per Second
ByteDance's Volcano Engine unveiled the Seedance 2.0 Mini video generation model yesterday at the Volcano Ark Experience Center. Designed as a cost-efficient option, it plans to roll out API services in the near future, targeting a broader market for video creation and large-scale production.

Balancing Efficiency and Visual Quality
As a recently launched lightweight model, Seedance 2.0 Mini delivers a notable speed boost without sacrificing output quality. Official data shows it generates content twice as fast as the regular fast version from the same series, while achieving video quality nearly on par with the high-speed variant.
Pricing is a key industry concern, and Volcano Engine offers a highly competitive low-cost solution. Based on the 720P specification, producing one second of video costs roughly 0.5 yuan—about half the cost of the previous standard version—significantly reducing businesses' development and production expenses.
Enabling Large-Scale Video Content Production
In real-world applications, Seedance 2.0 Mini strikes an optimal balance between lowering production costs and maintaining visual practicality. It adapts well to today's high-frequency, large-volume video generation needs, providing more flexible technical support for the industry.
This model primarily targets e-commerce content production, bulk marketing material generation, user-generated content creation, and rapid creation of various special effects. By dramatically reducing both technical barriers and financial costs, it helps more companies efficiently scale up their video content operations.
