BYD Humanoid Robot Launches in Zhengzhou This August with Early Commercial Use

BYD has established a definitive timeline for its humanoid robot initiative. On July 28, the company confirmed to media outlets that the product will be officially launched in August, with initial applications targeted at commercial service environments.
Earlier, BYD’s “Di Space | Zhengzhou Store” released a teaser poster featuring the caption, “A new friend wants to meet you in early August,” sparking significant market interest. The launch event will be held at BYD’s inaugural “Di Space” experience center in Zhengzhou. Unlike traditional 4S dealerships, this venue serves as a brand technology showcase and user interaction hub, focusing on product displays, tech engagement, and new business initiatives.
According to public records, the “Di Space | Zhengzhou Store” spans four floors with a total area of approximately 15,000 square meters, serving as a key platform for BYD’s future technology demonstrations. Industry analysts predict that the humanoid robot will initially focus on commercial services such as exhibition hall reception, product demonstrations, and user interaction, before gradually expanding into industrial manufacturing and intelligent logistics.
Following the announcement, BYD’s A-share stock climbed by over 2% during trading. Simultaneously, the humanoid robot sector strengthened, with Mingxin Xuteng hitting its daily limit for two consecutive sessions and Shangwei Xincai rising by more than 9%. Other related firms, including Beizhi Technology, Sanhua Zhikong, Tossda, Lixing Shares, and Tianqi Shares, also posted gains.
In recent years, driven by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, large language models, and robotics, automotive manufacturers have accelerated their entry into the embodied intelligence sector. BYD’s introduction of a humanoid robot signals that traditional manufacturers are expanding from smart vehicles to a broader ecosystem of smart terminals and robots.
As hardware costs decline, AI capabilities improve, and use cases expand, the commercialization of humanoid robots is entering a fast-track phase. High-frequency applications in offline services and industrial production are likely to become the industry’s initial breakthrough areas.
