Baidu Map Integrates National-Level Data, Teams Up with National Team to Become AI Smart Co-Pilot
Baidu Maps has officially signed agreements with three national-level authorities to integrate core public data, forming a comprehensive safety network for road travel. The partners include the Traffic Safety Research Center of the Ministry of Public Security, the Road Network Monitoring and Emergency Response Center of the Ministry of Transport, and the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration.
This partnership marks a deep integration between official authoritative data systems and internet navigation platforms. Real-time information such as road closures from traffic management departments, minute-by-minute weather updates from meteorological agencies, and highway congestion data from the road network center will be delivered accurately to drivers through Baidu Maps.

Proactive Alerts for Adverse Weather
Using the vast national data now available, the system proactively identifies high-risk zones such as rain, snow, fog, and icy roads during route planning. Navigation not only warns users of potential travel hazards in advance but also intelligently suggests safe alternative routes.
While driving, the system dynamically evaluates conditions based on the vehicle’s real-time location. Before entering an area affected by bad weather, navigation issues a voice alert ahead of time, reminding drivers to reduce speed or choose a different route.
Accurate Detection of Long-Distance Hazards
Beyond handling complex weather changes, this version significantly enhances safety by introducing a long-range risk warning feature. The system can precisely identify over 30 types of dynamic and static risks ahead, including accidents, road construction, and sharp blind curves, acting as an always-on intelligent co-pilot.
Users don’t need to perform any complicated setup—simply update the Baidu Maps app to the latest version. With the navigation voice broadcast enabled during daily trips, drivers automatically receive comprehensive weather and traffic safety protection backed by national data throughout the entire journey.
