Apple to Unveil New iPhone SE and PowerBeats Pro 2 on Feb 11
Apple is rumored to be gearing up for a low-key announcement on February 11, potentially unveiling a new iPhone SE and PowerBeats Pro headphones, according to Bloomberg. The company hasn't sent out any invites for an event yet, so don't expect a big show.
This new iPhone SE would be the fourth in the series and the first since 2022. The last one, which was part of the iPhone 13 lineup, cost $429 and was pretty similar to the iPhone 8, including the Touch ID. That model's been discontinued in the EU because of its Lightning port, which doesn't comply with the Common Charger Directive.
Like the rest of Apple's gadgets, the new SE is expected to have a USB-C port. It's rumored to look a lot like the iPhone 14, which came out a bit after the last SE. This update might finally ditch the Touch ID home button for good, replacing it with Face ID.
The fourth-gen iPhone SE is also expected to work with Apple Intelligence, just like all the iPhone 16 models and the iPhone 15 Pro. It could be the first to use an Apple-made modem, helping the company move away from relying on companies like Qualcomm.
The new SE is likely to be popular outside the U.S., especially in China and India, the world's biggest smartphone markets. Apple's been having a tough time in China lately, with iPhone sales dropping 11% year-over-year, thanks to strong competition from local brands like Huawei, which has made a comeback after trade restrictions. Plus, Apple Intelligence isn't available in China yet.

Alongside the iPhone SE, Apple might also announce the PowerBeats Pro 2. It's been nearly six years since the first ones came out. These new earbuds could be the first Apple headphones with heart rate tracking, expanding the company's health initiatives beyond the Apple Watch.
Later this year, we might see M4 updates for the MacBook Air and iPad Air, plus a new smart home device with a display that could be Apple's first step into consumer robotics. But don't expect any of these at the February 11 launch.
