On October 7 Musk announced Grok Bot will shift from self-developed models to a multi-model hybrid architecture automatically selecting best third-party APIs like Claude Opus5.5 Midjourney and Suno per task. Launched in August 2026 as a beta always-on AI colleague it logs into apps to perform multi-step tasks autonomously retaining context and running on cloud computers with persistent background operations requiring human approval only when necessary.
