Zhipu MaaS to Introduce Data Non-Preservation Mechanism, Content Destroyed After Use
On September 21, Zhipu’s MaaS platform announced the upcoming release of a "data content not stored" feature, providing enterprises and developers with enhanced data privacy safeguards. This mechanism ensures that input and output data generated during model calls are not persistently stored on the platform. The data is used solely to complete the current request and is discarded immediately afterward.

According to official guidelines, any user can apply for this feature via the MaaS console. The specific implementation timeline and applicable scope will be determined by the platform, offering enterprise customers with strict data compliance needs an additional layer of data protection.
However, this mechanism does not represent absolute non-storage. Zhipu clarified that services requiring persistent storage of tasks or files, such as Batch API and File API, are excluded from this feature. Additionally, the platform may retain relevant data for 30 days or longer to comply with legal regulations or to investigate suspected violations and abuse.
As large AI models accelerate their deployment, data privacy has become a critical factor in enterprise decision-making. Zhipu’s "no storage" mechanism offers a compromise that prioritizes privacy protection, ensuring data is discarded after use while maintaining necessary compliance and risk control measures.
