Youzan Denies Involvement in GEO AI Product Amid 315 Rumors
Today, Youzan issued an official clarification stating that its portfolio companies are not involved in the "AI poisoning" incident highlighted by CCTV's 3-15 Gala. The statement also clearly defines the safe and compliant boundaries of its AI marketing operations.
In response to media reports connecting the GEO-related products mentioned during the gala to Youzan's invested company, Nanjing Xiaoliebian Network Technology Co., Ltd., Youzan clarified that its 2021 investment in Xiaoliebian was solely for developing enterprise WeChat ecosystem tools. There is no shareholding, business, or technical connection between the two parties regarding GEO services. After investigation, the "Liqing GEO Optimization System," suspected of using automated methods to manipulate large language model outputs, was neither developed nor operated by Xiaoliebian.

This incident highlights how the concept of "Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)" has been misappropriated within illegal industrial chains. Previous reports indicate that the companies involved fabricated product information and used GEO systems to publish numerous promotional articles. This practice misled AI models into providing false rankings for queries like "recommended smart health bands," creating a new form of "AI poisoning."
Youzan emphasized that its AI service, "Add Me as Your Recommender," is designed to optimize brand presentation, not engage in deceptive packaging, and it firmly opposes "poisoning-style" marketing. This service has already undergone compliance reviews with major AI model providers. As large model commercialization advances, distinguishing between legitimate generative content optimization and malicious information pollution has become a critical industry standard in AI marketing. Regulatory bodies are expected to intensify efforts to manage the authenticity of AI-generated content.
