YouTube is revolutionizing content creation by introducing an innovative AI tool that generates royalty-free instrumental tracks, eliminating copyright concerns for video makers, according to TechCrunch. The platform unveiled this cutting-edge functionality through its Creator Insider channel this week.
During the demonstration, host Lauren showcased a fresh "Music assistant" feature within YouTube Studio's Creator Music beta section. Creators simply input descriptive prompts - for example, "energetic workout montage music" - and the AI generates multiple instrumental options. These tracks are available for preview and download, ready for seamless integration into video editing software. Lauren noted the tool is being gradually released to eligible Creator Music participants.

This development places YouTube among leading AI music innovators. Similar technologies include Stability AI's audio diffusion models and Meta's open-source AudioCraft framework, which currently power music generation tools across the industry.
YouTube continues expanding its AI music capabilities with multiple experimental features. The platform previously launched a song remixing tool for Shorts content and Dream Track - an AI-powered composition feature in collaboration with Google DeepMind's Lyria technology that transforms user melodies into professional-style tracks.
