YouTube Enhances Studio, Adds Likeness Detection, Lip-Synced Dubs, and Creator Tools
YouTube has introduced a collection of new features for YouTube Studio, the platform utilized by over 30 million creators each month to manage their channels, track analytics, and monitor revenue. At its Made on YouTube event, the company showcased a range of new and updated tools, including an AI-powered support chatbot, an inspiration tab, A/B testing for titles, auto dubbing, likeness detection, and more.
Many of these features expand on tools previously announced or tested with limited groups, and are now being rolled out to a wider audience.

One of the most notable updates is the likeness detection feature, which was initially announced in 2024 and later extended to prominent creators like Mr. Beast. The tool is now entering an open beta phase, available to all creators in the YouTube Partner Program—those who meet specific subscriber and view criteria to monetize their channels. These creators will be able to identify, manage, and authorize the removal of videos that use their facial likeness without permission, helping safeguard their image and reputation while preventing audience deception, according to YouTube.

It can provide insights on topics such as video performance or audience feedback on editing style, offering creators actionable information to support channel growth.
(This feature differs from a viewer-focused "Ask" AI tool tested in late 2023, which allowed users to ask questions about videos they were watching.)

It now offers additional ideation features, including personalized topic suggestions and nine AI-generated responses per prompt to help creators develop content plans. Creators can combine suggestions or add their own ideas, and the system will explain its recommendations based on audience behavior and insights.

The platform reports that creators have used this testing feature over 15 million times to date. (This figure may seem modest given that 20 million videos are uploaded to YouTube daily.)

Additionally, creators will now be able to collaborate with up to five others on a single video, which will be shared across all participants’ audiences. While this feature is intended to boost engagement and expand reach, YouTube confirms that any revenue generated will be credited to the channel that publishes the video.

The platform currently supports dubbing in 20 languages, and in the coming months, it will improve translated videos by aligning lip movements with dubbed audio to create a more natural viewing experience.

According to YouTube, a study conducted from December 2024 to August 2025 found that viewers spent over 75% of their time watching auto-dubbed versions of videos compared to the originals.
