Xiaopeng Automotive Advances Humanoid Robot Mass Production: 2026 Target, Retail Launch in Following Year

Xiaopeng Group recently convened a mass production kickoff meeting for robots, officially confirming that its humanoid robot initiative has reached the final mass production phase—a key milestone for the automotive giant's embodied intelligence industrialization.
Nearly a thousand employees from divisions including Xiaopeng Automotive, Powertrain, Manufacturing, Testing, and General Intelligence took part in the meeting. During the event, He Xiaopeng, Chairman of Xiaopeng Group, outlined key milestones: the company's humanoid robot will reach mass production by the end of 2026 and is expected to debut as a sales assistant in Xiaopeng's offline stores in the first quarter of 2027. He emphasized that Xiaopeng Robotics has achieved full in-house development across chips, operating systems, joints, and dexterous hands, making it the only company in China with a completely self-developed robot stack. The substantial early-stage R&D investment will enable the product to deliver higher quality and more comprehensive capabilities.
The team is now following the same launch and mass production blueprint that the company used for its first model, the G3, eight years ago. On the capacity front, the Xiaopeng humanoid robot mass production base—spanning approximately 110,000 square meters in Guangtang Science and Technology City, Tianhe District, Guangzhou—broke ground in February this year, laying a robust hardware foundation for end-to-end large-scale manufacturing.
