Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 17T series smartphones this afternoon, alongside a striking debut of its humanoid robot. The robot demonstrated advanced autonomous capabilities by grasping the Xiaomi 17T Pro and adjusting the volume key for zoom photography, highlighting its refined dexterity in handling electronic devices.
This achievement stems from Xiaomi’s ongoing hardware iterations since its robotics research began in 2017. Following the release of the "Tie Dan" and "Tie Da" models and the establishment of a dedicated robotics subsidiary in 2023, the robot recently completed a three-hour continuous operation in an automotive plant with a 90.2% success rate for dual-side installation. To improve dexterity, Xiaomi significantly upgraded the CyberOne bionic hand in late March: reducing its volume by 60%, increasing degrees of freedom by 64%, expanding the tactile sensor coverage to 8,200 square millimeters, and integrating a bionic sweat gland for better heat dissipation.
This launch signals Xiaomi’s transition of embodied intelligence technology from high-precision industrial manufacturing to complex daily service scenarios, accelerating the industrialization of both industrial and consumer-grade robots.
