Xianyu AI Service Nears 10 Million Orders in Six Months, Driven by Female Sellers in Lower-Tier Cities

Xianyu’s first-half 2026 data reveals AI services as the platform’s top consumption category. The platform recorded 9.816 million AI service orders in H1, a 157% year-over-year surge. Nearly 5 million users purchased AI services on Xianyu, reflecting a 98% YoY increase.
AI has transitioned from tech circles to everyday transactions, with Xianyu’s seller ecosystem proving surprisingly diverse. AI skill orders dominate, comprising 45.1% of all AI transactions. AI tutorials and courses account for 8.1%, while templates and workflows make up 6.6%, covering professional services like workflow customization and AI agent setup.
AI programming saw a 17-fold increase, with manga tutorials selling 17,000 copies in six months.
Growth in key categories is striking. AI programming and website building orders surged 1,732%, as users leverage AI for coding and site creation. AI manga orders rose 1,425%, and AI PPT and office-related orders grew by 264%. One seller alone moved 17,000 copies of an AI manga tutorial in just half a year.
Seller demographics show that 60% are aged 18–35, with women making up 62.4%. The average monthly transaction value is 897 yuan, mostly serving as a side income. Geographically, sellers from fourth-tier cities lead at 32.2%, followed by second-tier cities at 28.6%. On the buyer side, second-tier city users account for 30.6%, closely followed by fourth-tier cities at 26.1%.
As AI programming courses and manga tutorials thrive in lower-tier cities, this trend signals more than any industry report: AI’s democratization is real, penetrating everyday life through secondhand marketplaces.
