TikTok Life Services Bans AI-Generated Content for Group Buying and E-Commerce Videos

With the rise of AI-generated content (AIGC), the Douyin Life Service platform has officially introduced its "AIGC Creation Guidelines." The core aim is to improve content transparency and authenticity. All creators are now required to proactively and clearly label any content created or synthesized using artificial intelligence, safeguarding users' right to accurate information.
Cracking Down on Infringement and Unauthorized Use to Protect Original Content
Regarding copyright and personal rights protection, the new rules establish strict boundaries. Creators are prohibited from using others' likenesses, voices, or works for "face-swapping," "voice cloning," or other adaptations without proper, explicit, and verifiable authorization. Furthermore, the platform strictly bans using unauthorized materials or plagiarized scripts for AI model training and content generation. This aims to prevent technology misuse and related infringement issues at the source.
Strictly Regulating Key Service Categories, Banning AI Substitutes for Real Services
For key consumer-facing industries like catering, accommodation, entertainment, spas & massage, beauty, repair, and home services, the guidelines impose more specific and stringent requirements. When posting promotional videos for these sectors, essential information—including product displays, actual environments, service procedures, and final results—cannot be replaced by AI-generated fake content.
This regulation ensures life service short videos are grounded in "real experiences." It prohibits using AIGC to fabricate service settings or exaggerate service outcomes. The goal is to guarantee consumers get what they see when purchasing promotional offers, maintaining a fair and trustworthy online marketplace.
