Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has advanced its smart cockpit localization efforts. According to a filing by Net Information Shanghai, Tesla’s vehicle voice large model service officially completed its generative AI service registration on April 20.
This development integrates more robust generative AI capabilities into Tesla’s voice interaction system for the Chinese market. The move ensures compliance with local regulations and indicates that Chinese Tesla owners will soon benefit from smarter, more natural voice control and cockpit interactions.
Tesla has previously filed for AI models in China. Last November, its xBot customer service became one of the first foreign large models approved for launch, designed to answer user queries and facilitate multi-turn conversations.
This vehicle voice model filing signifies the integration of AI technology from mobile app customer service into core vehicle interactions. By understanding natural language inputs, the new system delivers more logical and empathetic responses.
