Prezent secures $30M funding to acquire AI firms, starting with founder's existing venture
Enterprise AI presentation platform Prezent has secured $30 million in a new funding round. The investment was led by Multiplier Capital, Greycroft, and Nomura Strategic Ventures, with contributions from existing backers including Emergent Ventures, West Wave Capital, and Alumni Ventures.
Based in Los Altos, California, the startup is now valued at $400 million. Its total funding to date exceeds $74 million, with a significant portion of the fresh capital earmarked for strategic acquisitions.
Prezent has already completed its first acquisition, purchasing Prezentium, a services-based presentation company focused on the life sciences sector. Notably, Prezent founder Rahul Mishra was a co-founder of Prezentium and has served as its non-operating President since launching his new venture. The two companies were already partners, with Prezentium acting as a go-to-market channel for Prezent. This acquisition consolidates both businesses, enabling Prezent to access Prezentium's established client base and offer its AI suite to a wider audience.

While many target consumers and small businesses, Prezent is doubling down on an enterprise-first strategy for large corporations. Although the company has previously expressed intentions to expand into verticals like finance and manufacturing, founder Mishra stated the current focus remains on serving clients in life sciences and technology.
“Many tools aim to make presentations visually appealing. Our goal is to provide the best tools for strategic business communication. Presentations remain one of the last frontiers in business that hasn't been fully automated. We want to empower data scientists and designers to communicate more effectively through automation,” Mishra told TechCrunch.

To drive adoption, Prezent deploys 'presentation engineers' within client enterprises. These specialists, knowledgeable about both the industry and Prezent's platform, help teams across the organization learn to build effective presentations using AI tools.

That's why we embed presentation engineers within companies—to accelerate product adoption and value for our customers,” Mishra said.

Examples include digital avatar startup D-ID buying Berlin-based Simpleshow and Google-backed Lawhive acquiring a UK law firm. These moves aim to merge AI technology with the domain expertise and client service capabilities of traditional service providers.
Prezent plans to forge more partnerships and pursue acquisitions in adjacent areas such as executive communication coaching, medical writing, and communication consulting firms.
Mark Terbeek, a partner at Greycroft and a multi-round investor in Prezent, said the firm looks for sectors where businesses have historically relied on expensive agencies. “We look for areas where AI tools are now emerging to address those same needs. We believed Rajat and Prezent were intensely focused on solving specific business communication pain points. We also saw the software evolving rapidly to adapt to end-user workflows and save them significant time,” he told TechCrunch.
Looking ahead, Prezent aims to enhance personalization, allowing its AI to learn and adapt to individual communication styles within an organization. The roadmap also includes adding multimodality for deck creation, accepting text, voice, or video as input. Following in the footsteps of companies like Synthesia and D-ID, Prezent also plans to integrate digital avatars into its presentations.
