On the model front, the new real-time model gpt-realtime-1.5 and its associated audio model have been officially released. Their primary aim is to enhance the reliability of voice commands. According to internal test data from OpenAI, the new model improves transcription accuracy for numbers and letters by approximately 10%, boosts accuracy in logical audio tasks by 5%, and increases instruction execution accuracy by 7%, effectively addressing issues where AI misinterprets key phrases or struggles with complex voice commands.
Architecturally, the Responses API now supports the WebSocket protocol, marking a significant shift in AI communication. Unlike earlier methods that required retransmitting the full context with each request, WebSocket enables developers to establish a persistent connection, with the system sending only incremental data when new information is generated.
