OpenAI Launches Sites Feature, Marking the End of the No-Code Era with Word-Powered Websites
OpenAI has introduced Sites, a new feature for Codex, its AI for software engineering. Currently in preview, it's available only to paying Business and Enterprise subscribers and aims to remove traditional barriers in web and application development.
At its core, Sites is a platform that turns abstract ideas into working tools. Users can input concepts, data analyses, or project plans, and Codex automatically restructures that static content into dashboards, scheduling planners, review workspaces, project boards, and lightweight apps.
Beyond generating tools, Sites supports team collaboration. Users can share interactive websites or applications with specific team members through a unique URL. In this shared space, team members can explore workflows in real time, contribute ideas, track progress, and make decisions together.
This development shift brings major efficiency gains to enterprise operations. Finance managers, for example, no longer need to work with static spreadsheets; they can convert them into interactive scenario planners with Sites. Management and executives can adjust assumptions directly in the real-time web application and see data changes instantly.
