NotebookLM Unveils Curated Notebooks from Top Publications and Experts
Google is enhancing its AI-driven research and note-taking tool, NotebookLM, to serve as a comprehensive knowledge hub. On Monday, the company introduced a curated collection of notebooks from prominent authors, publications, researchers, and nonprofits, enabling users to explore diverse topics such as health, travel, finance, and more.
The initial set features contributions from The Economist, The Atlantic, renowned professors, authors, and even Shakespeare’s works, showcasing practical applications of NotebookLM for in-depth subject exploration.
Users can access original source materials, pose questions, dive into topics, and receive cited responses, Google explains. Additional features include pre-generated Audio Overviews and Mind Maps to navigate key themes within notebooks.
This update complements NotebookLM’s recent feature allowing users to share notebooks publicly. Since its launch last month, Google reports over 140,000 public notebooks shared. The company aims to expand its curated collection in the coming months, with more contributions from partners like The Economist and The Atlantic.
The curated notebook collection is available on NotebookLM’s desktop platform starting today.
According to Google, the initial lineup includes:
- Longevity insights from Eric Topol, bestselling author of “Super Agers: An Evidence-Based Approach to Longevity”
- Expert forecasts for 2025 from The Economist’s World Ahead annual report
- Life advice drawn from Arthur C. Brooks’ “How to Build A Life” columns in The Atlantic
- A science enthusiast’s guide to Yellowstone National Park, featuring geological and biodiversity insights
