Muse Image permits users to generate AI images using photos from publicly accessible Instagram accounts. As long as a profile is set to public, any other user can reference that account and incorporate its images into AI-created content. (Only private accounts or those belonging to users under 18 are automatically excluded from this functionality.)
A major concern related to this feature is the issue of consent. Users may not be aware that their public photos could be used by strangers to create AI images, nor are they informed when someone repurposes their content. Moreover, the ease with which people’s images can be altered raises risks of misuse, harassment, impersonation, and unauthorized editing.
