Meituan Launches Small Store AI Initiative in Beijing to Support Millions of Catering SMEs

On June 25, Meituan launched the first offline experience event for its 'Small Store with AI' initiative in Beijing, marking the start of a full-scale rollout for this digital upgrade program aimed at helping small businesses. The event also introduced a dedicated section for 'Small Store with AI,' offering free professional AI business courses to millions of small and medium-sized catering merchants nationwide.
Small catering businesses often struggle with high operating costs and difficult decision-making during digital transformation. Meituan's AI tool suite—including 'AI Xiaoguanyi,' 'Kangaroo Manager,' and 'Intelligent Boss'—has already served over one million merchants. These tools help merchants conduct detailed data analysis, provide scientific operational optimization suggestions, and perform real-time risk interception, significantly reducing labor costs while boosting daily operational efficiency.
As the first city to implement this initiative, Beijing not only demonstrated how AI technology can take root in vibrant small restaurants but also provided valuable experience for expanding to other cities nationwide. Moving forward, Meituan will continue to broaden its reach, leveraging technology to drive service innovation and help more small and medium-sized catering enterprises bridge the digital divide, achieving steady growth in quality and efficiency.
