Compared to the same period last year, his wealth increased by $19.9 billion, placing him 63rd on the global billionaires list, ahead of Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei and OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman.
At a valuation of 40 billion yuan, DeepSeek completed its first external funding round.
In June of this year, DeepSeek raised 51 billion yuan in its first external funding round at a valuation of 40 billion yuan. According to Reuters, Liang Wenfeng personally invested 20 billion yuan from his own funds, demonstrating strong confidence in the company's future. DeepSeek was founded on July 17, 2023, and is headquartered in Guanshan District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The company focuses on research and development of large language models and multimodal AI technology. Its DeepSeek series of open-source models are among the leading open-source large models in China.
